Eight Minutes With Kellie Pickler

 By: Alison Bonaguro

That's all the time she had, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from asking Kellie Pickler every single question I had about her appearance this Sunday (Nov. 8) on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. And then some. Luckily, I talk fast and she talks even faster. She called me from Nashville, and we jammed as many Qs and as we could into our allotted time.

CMT.com: What was it like telling the Terpenning family they were getting a new house?
Pickler: It was one of the most beautiful things. That family is so deserving, so it was such a blessing. The whole show is about embracing one another and coming together. One of the most emotional parts was seeing 200 people marching down the street to come and help.

What was more fun: the demolition or the building?
Demo day! I like to break things. I don't have a lot of anger, but being able to do whatever you want -- like punching holes in the walls -- was great. I loved busting out the toilet with a sledgehammer.

How'd you learn to be so handy around the house?
My grandpa was an electrician, so I'd go on jobs with him when I was little. I'm very hands-on. I could wire your house and hook up your thermostat.

Random question time: What's with the brown hair?
I just thought it'd be fun to try something different, you know, because it's fall. I'll probably go back to blonde after the CMAs.

And what's your favorite song on Carrie Underwood's new album?
"Someday When I Stop Loving You." I love how real it is and how it showcases her soft, beautiful vocals. Great pipes on that one.

Kellie, Kellie, Kellie, KELLIE! Lord have mercy! This woman is going to make one man the most blessed man on earth one day when she says "yes" to his proposal! She is probably the most beautiful woman that has EVER graced the tv screen and its not just her looks. This is a genuine woman. She's not one of these fakers that tries to hide a beautiful Southern accent or tries to act like she is better than anyone else! I'm not saying this because she is a Tarheel like me, but I'm saying it because it is the truth! Nothing fake about this girl! SHE is for real! Love you, Kellie.
