KP’s New Video Premieres Tonight!

This Sunday, the stars are coming together to help Nashville as GAC airs Music City Keep On Playin’ — A Benefit For Flood Relief. Airing from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium at 8 p.m. ET, the fundraiser features Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Rodney Atkins, and Kellie Pickler, among others.

Kellie recently called in to our studio with the exciting news that she wanted GAC to have the world premiere of her new video, “Makin’ Me Fall In Love Again.” The video has a 1940s USO theme and you can see it TONIGHT — Friday, May 14 at 8 p.m. Eastern – on the Top 20 Country Countdown.

When Kellie shot the video in Los Angeles a couple of months ago, she was in the middle of touring with good buddy Taylor Swift and took advantage of a day off to film the clip. She not only worked on her day off, she worked in an injured state.

“That week, I’d sprained my ankle really bad and torn some ligaments in my ankle,” she tells GAC. “So the whole day of the shoot, when I’d wear heels, every time they’d say, ‘Cut!’ I’d just have to take my shoe off. By the end of the day, my whole foot was so swollen, I couldn’t even fit a shoe on it. There’s a scene of me sitting on a couch in the video. I’m wearing one shoe and I had to hide my other foot because it was so swollen!”

There are several outfit changes in the clip, but Kellie’s favorite was the blue costume (pictured above), “because I was the most covered in that one,” she laughs.

Kellie chose the 1940s glamorous period because it celebrated the feminine figure. “I just love how beautiful the women were back then,” she says. “I don’t feel there was a pressure to be skinny and so deathly looking as what the pressure is now. The women were more ‘womanly’-looking. They had curves. They had beautiful fair skin. It was just more natural. I love the clothes.

“The way women were viewed back then is just so different than what the definition of beauty is today,” she adds. “I mean, people still always bring up Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe was not deathly skinny, you know? She had beautiful curves. She was a woman. So I wanted to embrace that. I just love the ‘40s. Beautiful clothes, beautiful people.”

And in case you were wondering, Kellie’s foot has healed. ”I’m back and feeling good now,” she assures.
