Kellie Pickler is set to join a lineup of Country Music stars to perform at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Sept. 8. Paul Brandt and Gord Bamford were also added to the list of performers while Bill Anderson and Michelle Wright will present at the CCMAs.

Kellie Pickler will take part in the AARP GrandRally, specifically targetingGrandfamilies which are grandparents raising their grandchildren. The annual event is Wednesday, May 7, on the West Lawn of U.S. Capitol Building beginning at 1:00 pm. Kellie will perform “My Angel,” a song on her debut album, Small Town Girl. Kellie wrote the song about, and dedicated the album to, her grandmother.

The “Hook Up” was a text message contest that targeted all high schools in the Atlanta metro area, and more than TWO MILLION text messages later, Etowah High was announced the winner.

For Kellie Pickler, the first award of her career turned into a triple- play as the perky singer-songwriter captured the most wins of the night at the CMT Music Awards for her emotional ballad, “I Wonder.” “This is the first time I’ve ever won anything in my life,” said a visibly shaken Pickler via satellite from Scottsdale, AZ after winning the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year. Little did she know that the ‘first time winning anything’ would also yield her the “Tearjerker Video of the Year” directed by Robert Deaton and George Flanigen as well as an award for the “Performance of the Year,” the result of her powerful performance of “I Wonder,” on the CMA Awards last fall.
