Kellie Pickler Steps Into the Circle on Premier GAC Show

Stepping into a famed oak circle cut from the stage of the historic Ryman Auditorium and placed in the stage at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House is a moment to which country music performers aspire, as it is a true sign they’ve “made it” in the genre. On Sept. 20 (10 pm ET), Great American Country (GAC) will debut Into the Circle, a behind-the-scenes look at some of country music’s most successful new artists, starting with rising star Kellie Pickler whose sophomore debut album will be released September 30.

The show will include footage from Kellie’s Grand Ole Opry television debut, a performance taped especially for Into the Circle and a one-on-one conversation with Opry member Trace Adkins who shares his lessons on how to manage families and life on the road, career longevity, headlining a tour, song selection, and more of the “ins and outs” of the music business.  Aside from exchanging heartfelt career advice, Adkins and Pickler make a comical pair as they open up to each other about everything from what it’s like to live in Nashville, to marriage proposals from the Opry stage.

On the Opry Kellie said, “On my first visit to the Opry my Grandpa bought tickets and we went and Trace was actually performing there,” recalls Pickler. “It’s hard to even imagine that just a little over two years ago I was back in Albemarle (North Carolina)and I remember singing there at different little events and dreaming of being able to move to Nashville and to have the honor to sing on the Grand Ole Opry stage.  I’m so honored to actually be able to go and sing there and hopefully I’ll be asked to be a member one day.”

I watched the episode with you and Trace. You did an amazing job. Several of my friends were there for the taping and got to meet you. I wish I could have gone also.

Hey there Kellie!! My husband and I were right there at the TV taping in Nashville. It was quite an experience for us. I loved the makeup people always making you up!! That was so funny. You did a great job on that show, and you were so patient and kind when they had to redo certain things, I know that helps those TV folks out. Then after the show when you took time to say hello to your fans and give me a big hug…words can’t express how impressed I was with you and you alone. Watching it on TV was so much fun for me. It turned out to be a great show!
